The Glossier Cloud Paint Review
Trying out a beauty brand that has become an international
sensation—Glossier. Glossier is known for “skin first, make-up second”
philosophy. The brand celebrates imperfection and realistic beauty, in which
they offer products that are enhancing, to make women feel good and comfortable
of their skin and not pointing on the flaws that they should cover up immediately.
I got mine one of Glossier’s bestselling product, the Cloud
Paint in the shade Storm. Cloud paint is a gel-cream blush inspired by gradient
pink sunsets in NYC. It has six shades: Dusk (brownish nude), Beam (Soft
peach), Puff (light cool pink), Haze (deep berry color), Dawn (sunny coral),
and Strom (warm rose). It contains Collagen which hydrates and plumps skin, Smooth
gel application that gives an even application, and Blurring powder for a seamless
and natural finish. Cloud paint by Glossier claims to be hypoallergenic, dermatologist-tested, paraben free,
fragrance free, and cruelty free.
I read a lot of positive reviews about Glossier’s Cloud
Paints plus love their platform so I decided to try it and give an honest review
to you. And here it goes…
Packaging
So Glossier Cloud Paint have this “Paint tube” concept like
the ones we use in art class. I think idea is great and cute. The tube design
is clean and minimal, I was expecting it to be a bit bigger though.
Moving on to the box, I DIDN’T LIKED IT. *I’m the type of
person who keeps the box of every product that I buy to retain it’s good
condition* to me, the box is a bit flimsy and cheap looking with the cardboard
and plastic thing, considering that the product is great and pricey.
Formula
True to its claims, the Cloud Paint is easy to blend and
seamless. It gives off that natural flush glow from within. Just a tiny dot of
product in one’s finger goes a long way. The shade range is also not bad, from
nudes to reds, and I bet it looks good on every type of Filipina skin tone. The
product is super friendly, fuss free, and looks great even on bare skin.
Price and Availability
As I mentioned earlier, Glossier is great but pricey. One
cloud paint retails around 1,200php to 1,300php *YIKES* and unfortunately it is
not yet available locally in the Philippines so you can get yours from online
sellers. If you’re interested, you can check out @bigbeautybox on instagram.
Is Glossier worth it?
As for me, I love Glossier’s Cloud Paint friendliness.
It is fuss free and I love how it looked on my skin—natural, youthful, and glowing.
But as for the price, it is expensive for a cream blush. There are other
affordable and locally available products that can be stand in for the Cloud
paints. And for that, I’m giving Glossier 4/5 stars. You’re welcome.
